Gnarly Routes Texas Tour Recap

Our first tour of 2021 was a success and what a wild weekend it was! A full spectrum of conditions over the weekend from frozen snowy tundra to warm and lush loam!! We offered a bring your own bike (BYOB) option this go-round and had some ambitious riders join us from all over! The Classic Car Club Manhattan crew made the 2,000 mile trek from New York to join us and had an EPIC time! Two others from Colorado, one from Texas, and another from California joined in to fill out our group.

Upon arrival on Thursday, temps were in the twenties and it was tough to stay warm even around the campfire! Russell and Cole did some pre-riding to checkout the frozen waterfall and to get some photos since we rarely get to see the ranch covered in snow.

Friday, we started on fully snow covered trail. “It felt like we were backcountry riding and above tree-line in places!” according to Russell Bobbitt. There was an acclimating hour the first day as we all had a bit of a learning curve. Plenty of ahhh shit moments, but well worth the unreal scenery. On Friday afternoon the snow started to melt and even though it was muddy in places, we knew that the conditions would soon be perfect.

Saturday and Sunday had temps in the 60’s and churned the slushee into brownies right out of the oven! The ever changing conditions kept the riding so interesting and it was unbelievable how fast all the snow melted. By the end of day three we saw patches of dust floating up!! Unreal times on two wheels and by the campfire. We couldn’t be happier to stay true to the name and offer up a premium epic #gnarlyroutes ride!! Thanks for coming out guys, we enjoyed it as much as you did!
