Gnarly Routes Moab Tour

Gnarly Routes: Moab Tour

Location: Moab, UT

Date: May 13-20, 2021

Every time we get back to the small town of Moab, UT we are reminded why we love it so much! It truly is such a unique riding landscape that is simply incomparable. This year we had two back to back groups with some riders from all corners of the country and even abroad! One of the groups was a private group waving the Classic City Car Club flag. A great group of guys that really have a passion for off-road riding and exploring!

For some of the riders it was their first time out West. These are some of our favorite guests to show around as their minds are absolutely blown! We have added some routes and new sections to our previously ridden tracks and got to see some amazing new sights.

Our first day we took a new approach and led our group out on 7 Mile Rim. This one offered up some incredible views and we stopped under an arch along the ride. A good mix of jeep wide two track and some gnarly bits peppered in there kept everyone on edge without going overboard! It was really fun taking a break at Wipeout Hill and watching some of the crawlers go up and down some crazy cliffs! Safe to say we are much more confident on two wheels!!

One of the highlights was a new lunch spot where we hike a bit and get to take a break in a cool cave tunnel. When you get to the other side the wind is blowing and it opens up to an unreal view. Not a bad place to enjoy a sandwich and if you're in luck.. a cold coca-cola if Russ is carrying!

Everyone filled their packs with water and stomachs with pancakes for day 2 as we were headed out to the enduro loop. We continue to improve our loop out that way and added a new trail to us called Cow Freckle. An awesome mix of slickrock and sand kept changing along the way. A little gas stash along the way was crucial as this would be our biggest day and pushes capable mileage to the end point!

Playing in the White Wash sand dunes is always fun and makes you feel like you are definitely in another part of the world. A new direction found us dropping into some tall canyon walls on each side and proved to be a favorite of the riders.

After each day we all would make it back into town to shower, snack, and be ready to hit downtown for a hearty meal and libations. One of our favorite places to stop to eat is 98 Center, which is an Asian Fusion place and all local produce. (Get the molasses-ginger cookie)

Our final ride day was very similar for both our crews. We played on some nostalgic slickrock close to Moab and spent the day riding rock! Everyone was much more comfortable and albeit tired, everyone was riding with more confidence and we love to see such improvement! An exceptional ride all the way around with returning faces, and some faces that we will surely return and ride with us again!
